The Chemicals and Energy Division (or CED) conducts R & D studies on the production of organic, inorganic and pharmaceutical chemicals and substances and energy technologies/ systems from indigenous raw materials for industrial applications.

Through
its R & D capabilities, the division aims to develop processes and/or
technologies relevant to the immediate needs of the chemical-related industries and energy needs of the industrial sector. It further hopes to establish and foster linkages with industries through technology transfer and joint R & D projects such as contract researches.
VISION
The
CED is a God-centered, dynamic, committed and responsive division which specializes in Chemicals and Energy R & D, institutionalizing
S & T for the growth of SMEs thru innovative, energy-efficient, environmentally-sound and culture -sensitive
programs and a resource of technical expertise and technologies geared towards global
excellence and competence of the division and the industries as well.
